About The Farm

The farm is an 120 acre parcel nestled in the heart of Missouri at Jamestown. The topography of the farm is gently rolling hills with river bluff vistas. It is about 60% pasture and  40% mature hardwood forest. Our pastures are a mix of timothy, brome, fescue, and red clover. We have 9 separate pastures to ensure good grazing rotation, with fresh water on each site.

Since purchasing our farm in 1996, we have been gradually converting our traditional bovine/swine facilities into acceptable refuge for unwanted animals of all species. In particular, we have focused our efforts on making our accommodations more equine-friendly with the vision of converting our place into a horse retirement dwelling.

This transformation has involved installing automatic waterers, replacing old fencing with more equine-friendly barriers, terracing some badly eroded acreage, reseeding pastures, and repairing and adding additions to current structures.

We have 3 large barns. The olser barn houses an amicable assortment of species that have been discarded by others (goats, pigs, cows, chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs).

The main horse housings are 2,  48 x 50 pole barns.  There are automatic waterers located inside all barns and the floors are covered with a layer of sand, followed by deep sawdust.  Individual stalls are available if needed.
